A considered
place to begin.

Find the right information before you build your research order. The catalogue, batch documents and practical tools each have a part to play.

From a question to a considered orderFour useful steps

The starting point

Define what your
work requires.

Begin with your laboratory’s specification. A product name alone is not enough to identify the material you need.

  • Check the compound identity and the form described.
  • Distinguish the amount per vial from the number of vials.
  • For a blend, review the listed components and their amounts.
  • For accessories, check the stated volume and format.

Use the product page for the available sizes and current purchase options. If a detail is missing, ask before ordering.

The supporting record

Read the document,
not just the headline.

Open the certificate of analysis for the relevant material and batch. Match the identifying details, then read the reported method, result and date.

A percentage on a page does not answer every quality question. The report’s scope matters, and a report for one batch should not be treated as a report for another.

Cannot find the record you need?

The public library may not include every product or batch. Contact the team with the product name and, if available, its batch reference.

The practical details

Compare like
with like.

Check the selected size, quantity and total before adding an item to your basket. A larger vial and a larger pack are different choices.

The value calculator can help compare price per milligram for mass-based products. Volume-based accessories need their own comparison; a price per milligram does not apply to them.

Research calculators perform arithmetic using the numbers you enter. They do not choose a method, concentration or protocol for your work.

Before you check out

Make the order
easy to receive.

Confirm your delivery details, your organisation’s receiving arrangements and any documentation needed for purchasing. Review the delivery information before completing checkout.

Keep the order reference and relevant batch documents together. On receipt, check the label and supplied information against the order, and follow your laboratory’s approved handling and storage procedures.

Keep the question specific

A useful question
gets a useful answer.

Include the product name, selected size and the document or order reference you are asking about. For personal medical questions, seek an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
